Not all convex products are the same
To ensure a convex baseplate can provide a secure and predictable seal to prevent leakage and support peristomal skin health, an expert group of clinicians agreed on 5 key characteristics defining a convex ostomy solution.3 These characteristics work together to conform to the stoma shape, adapt to body movements, and apply and distribute the needed pressure on peristomal skin with creases and folds.3

Tension Location positioning is key3
The size of the convex shell decides tension location – either help the stoma protrude or help flatten creases and folds in the peristomal area.
Tension close to the stoma helps it to protrude above skin level.
Tension further away from the stoma helps to flatten creases and folds in the peristomal skin.
